Which Bible Character are YOU?!

It's becoming a bit old-hat now, but you know all of those quizzes on social media - "Which Disney Princess are You?" and "Can we guess your age?" and "Which fantasy world do you belong in?"

Well, I've had a thought. We can make a useful one. About missions, and how one reacts to "The Call." I have come up with only two results. Feel free to come up with more, but this is what I've got.

Which Old Testament Prophet are You?
See how you would react if God called you to an important mission!

"You are Noah!

God called you to a specific task, with no specific timeline. You prepared according to what you knew from what God told you, and didn't ask questions. People may have even ridiculed you while you were preparing, but you stood your ground and didn't give up on God. You were a missionary before your mission even started!"
________

"You are Jonah!

God called you to a specific task, with an immediate, urgent timeline. You knew the consequences for others if you didn't obey, but still you ran in the opposite direction. Even when God forcibly pulled you back to your task, you sat back and hoped that God would rain hellfire upon those you despised. Thankfully, God has more compassion than you do. You swindled yourself out of the blessing of seeing God work through you to save others because of your bitterness."

So. Have you gotten The Call? Maybe you've answered it already and are already preparing, not knowing when "Your Time" will come. In that case, be a missionary where you are, while you prepare for what you feel God has called you to in the future.

But every Christian is called to love others and preach the Gospel immediately, whether we like the person or not. Because God loves them. And that's all that matters. If God wants to use you, He will use you, whether you like it or not. It's in your best interest to want to be used to further God's plan. When you resist, you miss out on the biggest blessing of life: seeing others come to Christ and rejoicing with them!

So, don't be a Jonah. Be a Noah.
